Description

  • Engineer production-grade software and data platforms that extend beyond conventional ETL.
  • Lead software and data engineering for a key initiative supporting a major banking client.
  • Apply cloud-native technologies and modern architectural patterns in hands-on development.
  • Create backend services and systems centered on data-intensive use cases.
  • Execute enterprise data migrations involving large-scale movement and transformation.
  • Use cloud data platforms to investigate and interpret substantial datasets.
  • Design event-driven architectures for real-time data streaming.
  • Build and optimize large cloud warehouses through thoughtful data modeling and performance tuning.

Requirements

  • At least five years of application development experience, including strong Python programming skills.
  • At least four years of practical experience using AWS cloud services.
  • At least four years working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and developing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience managing cloud-based data migrations, including enterprise-scale data transfer and transformation.
  • Experience using Databricks or Snowflake to analyze large datasets.
  • Working knowledge of distributed processing and batch or streaming technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or AWS Kinesis.
  • Experience with Apache Airflow or a comparable workflow orchestration platform.
  • Understanding of enterprise ETL pipelines, data quality practices, and compliance governance.
  • Hands-on experience designing real-time, event-driven streams with Kafka or OneStream.
  • Knowledge of large-scale cloud warehousing, performance tuning, and data modeling in Snowflake and OneLake.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent specialized training or progressively responsible technology experience may substitute at three years per missing college year, in addition to the required experience.
  • Java development experience is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS Glue or other AWS data integration services is a plus.
  • Proficiency in UNIX or Linux environments, including basic shell scripting, is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile teams, consulting, or client-facing collaborative work is a plus.
  • Nice to have: Experience working in Agile teams and knowledge of Agile engineering practices
