Senior Technical Strategist and Solution Architect – Auckland Hybrid
Lead client-facing architecture, Azure engineering, and AI-assisted delivery at Propellerhead. Help evolve resilient platforms and guide the transition from C# to Rust.
Description
- Deliver resilient software systems for complex infrastructure and innovative platforms.
- Partner with Product Strategists to define technical specifications and product platform direction.
- Lead the design of complex software systems.
- Apply and strengthen programming and engineering standards.
- Shape lean, evolutionary technical solutions through the AI-assisted delivery pipeline.
- Keep client platforms aligned with Propellerhead’s technical strategy.
- Apply standards, patterns, and tooling with the Chief Technologist and Engineering Principal in client environments.
- Inform technical strategy with insights from client platforms and delivery work.
- Write, review, and communicate solution architectures and specifications with Development and core Engineering teams.
- Advocate for Propellerhead’s technical strategy across portfolio solutions.
- Build trusted relationships with client decision-makers and explain solution designs to client technologists.
- Act as the primary technical contact for client solutions, coordinating prerequisites and operational improvements.
- Develop approaches that balance speed to value, security, reliability, maintainability, performance, and functional fit.
- Guide the codebase transition from C# to Rust, using AI across requirements, testing, and code generation.
Requirements
- At least eight years of experience developing multi-tier and distributed applications.
- Strong practical ability to use AI for rapid prototyping, solution shaping, and directing AI-assisted requirements, testing, and code-generation workflows.
- Confidence and credibility when presenting to senior client stakeholders.
- Essential experience with React and C#.
- Working confidence with TypeScript, Java, Go, and Rust services.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to connect technical solutions with business needs.
- Essential hands-on experience designing solutions on Azure.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and adding operational instrumentation.
- Experience with streaming and messaging platforms such as Kafka or NATS is highly desirable.
- A proven record of leading complex software application design, ideally in corporate enterprise environments.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, with a professional presence and clear influencing style.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in digital identity, verifiable credentials, open banking, AI agent authorization, or edge and device-based software deployment.
- Candidates who progress may be required to complete police and credit checks, other assessments, and provide qualification evidence.
- The final recruitment stage includes an in-person interview in New Zealand.
