Senior Software Engineer, AI Systems — Remote in Georgia

CeriFi is seeking a senior engineer to build scalable production services and AI-powered platform capabilities. The role spans architecture, delivery, debugging, code quality, and mentoring.

Description

  • Design, build, and operate customer-facing backend services, infrastructure, and integrations
  • Drive technical projects from uncertain requirements through scoping, design, implementation, deployment, measurement, and iteration
  • Use AI coding tools for drafting, refactoring, exploration, and review while owning the quality of delivered code
  • Develop and integrate AI product capabilities such as agent workflows, LLM-powered APIs, retrieval systems, and evaluation pipelines
  • Perform thorough code reviews, including reviews of AI-generated code, and define safe practices for using AI output
  • Investigate challenging production incidents by tracing systems, testing hypotheses, and resolving underlying causes
  • Mentor engineers in technical judgment, quality standards, verification, and assessment of AI-generated suggestions
  • Help shape architectural choices and long-term technical direction

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional experience building and operating production software systems
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, concurrency, distributed systems, databases, networking, and security
  • Hands-on experience with production operations, observability, controlled rollouts, and incident investigation
  • Sound code-review judgment, including the ability to identify bugs, security risks, and architectural issues in AI-generated code
  • Strong technical writing skills and the ability to explain complex subjects clearly
  • Daily fluency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor
  • Experience building LLM-based systems, including one or more of agent frameworks, tool or function calling, RAG pipelines, prompt evaluation, or model fine-tuning
  • Understanding of production risks in LLM and agent systems, including hallucinations, drift, prompt injection, latency variation, and runaway costs
  • Experience evaluating model and agent quality through metrics, evaluation harnesses, regression suites, or human review
  • Demonstrated ownership, technical judgment, communication, and mentoring ability
  • Preferred but not required: production agent systems experience, contributions to open-source AI tools or agent frameworks, EdTech experience, or broader technical leadership
