Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

Develop Tableau dashboards and data models for Insperity’s HR solutions, turning operational data into useful business insights. The role supports performance analysis and improvements through reliable, scalable reporting.

Description

  • Build, test, and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, and visual analytics.
  • Work with business leaders, analysts, data owners, and other teams to gather reporting needs and set success measures.
  • Connect Tableau to approved data sources, create efficient data models, and prepare scalable reporting structures.
  • Create and maintain Tableau Prep flows, calculated fields, parameters, filters, and dashboard logic.
  • Check source data and dashboard results, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues before publication.
  • Improve workbook, extract, query, filter, and visualization performance.
  • Build visualizations that surface trends, performance drivers, risks, exceptions, and improvement opportunities.
  • Publish, schedule, and manage Tableau content in line with governance, security, access, and version control standards.
  • Record dashboard requirements, data definitions, calculations, refresh processes, assumptions, and maintenance steps.
  • Help dashboard users troubleshoot problems, answer questions, share feedback, and implement approved improvements.
  • Track reporting processes and dashboard usage to reduce manual work and strengthen analytics reliability.
  • Keep up with Tableau features, business intelligence practices, and data visualization standards.
  • Carry out other related duties that support departmental goals and organizational reporting needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business analytics, data analytics, or a related field, or four years of related work experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, Tableau development, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Tableau dashboard design, data visualization principles, and business intelligence practices.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, data structures, data modeling, and reporting data sources.
  • Knowledge of analytics content governance, security, access controls, version management, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in building Tableau workbooks, dashboards, calculations, parameters, filters, actions, and published data sources.
  • Proficiency with SQL or similar query tools to extract, transform, join, validate, and analyze data.
  • Ability to turn complex data into clear visual stories for performance monitoring, trend analysis, and decision-making.
  • Ability to troubleshoot dashboard, data refresh, performance, and data quality issues.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, and document business requirements and turn them into effective reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Ability to validate data, identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Ability to balance priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate, high-quality work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, ask effective questions, incorporate feedback, and improve analytics deliverables.
