Description

  • Handle multi-line phones and operate or troubleshoot photocopiers, office equipment, and computer ordering systems
  • Receive, secure, sort, and distribute forms, mail, communications, supplies, and equipment
  • Provide backup support for office staff and assist with special projects
  • Coordinate daily activities to maintain efficient office operations
  • Keep scheduling systems and patient scheduling reports accurate and current
  • Train and orient designated staff on front-office responsibilities
  • Track inventory and reorder equipment, supplies, and floor-stock items
  • Collect insurance details, verify patient eligibility, update demographics, and process payments
  • Complete end-of-day reconciliation and resolve billing errors using systems such as BOS
  • Collect and process authorization forms for visits, tests, laboratory work, and procedures
  • Obtain required consent for care and authorization to obtain or release information
  • Prepare and distribute department communications and maintain distribution lists
  • Work with providers and staff to resolve scheduling concerns and consult clinic leadership about system issues
  • Protect confidentiality, document and communicate required actions to management, and support safety and compliance requirements
  • Deliver prompt, courteous service and de-escalate concerns raised by callers and patients

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card application number required upon hire
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card required within 90 days of hire
  • Associate degree preferred
  • At least two years of experience in a medical or comparable field preferred
  • At least two years of customer service experience preferred
  • Experience with Dimensions, Lawson, Halogen, Midas, or Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical requirements for handling patient information
  • Keep any required certifications or licenses current and valid before their expiration dates
  • Complete mandatory company modules and required job-specific training within the designated timeframe
