Lead Actuary, Cyber Risk Analytics - CyberCube (Hybrid, New York)

Lead actuarial analysis and develop statistical models and tools for CyberCube’s cyber-risk analytics platform serving global insurers. Stress-test and validate models and data, then communicate findings to internal teams and customers.

Description

  • Use statistical methods to conduct comprehensive analyses
  • Stress-test internal models against expected outputs and customer needs
  • Detect bugs and edge cases in internal models
  • Interpret key findings and validate them with team members
  • Present analytical results to internal and external customers
  • Continually validate and adapt models as environments change
  • Contribute to internal research and development initiatives
  • Provide analytical and actuarial support to colleagues
  • Source relevant public information and data for underwriting and actuarial tools
  • Assess data sources for consistency, completeness, accuracy, and quality
  • Document modules used in internal tools

Requirements

  • Demonstrate organization, attention to detail, discretion, thoroughness, independence, analytical ability, results orientation, and an efficiency-focused mindset
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Bring strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Have practical experience with VBA, SQL, R, Python, Tableau, or comparable statistical software
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in statistics, actuarial science, data science, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or offer relevant professional experience
  • Bring 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Show fluency with AI, curiosity about its applications, and willingness to learn and use AI tools thoughtfully
