Key Account Executive, Athletic Specialty

Lead Salomon’s strategic athletic specialty retail accounts. Drive North American growth through account strategy, forecasting, assortment planning, and cross-functional execution.

Description

  • Shape annual and multiyear account growth strategies around Salomon’s business objectives.
  • Build multiyear growth plans for assigned accounts.
  • Lead joint business planning and align commercial goals with key account stakeholders.
  • Coordinate monthly and quarterly shipments, sharing needs and updates with key stakeholders.
  • Find ways to create demand, expand distribution, and grow market share.
  • Manage revenue, margin, forecasts, and inventory productivity for assigned accounts.
  • Track results against budgets and growth targets.
  • Assess sales trends, business risks, and opportunities.
  • Create action plans to improve account productivity and profitability.
  • Lead seasonal assortment planning and sell-in presentations.
  • Work with merchants and planners to optimize product choices and inventory investment.
  • Secure new category placements, broader distribution, and greater visibility.
  • Coordinate delivery across Planning, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Product, and Finance.
  • Support product launches, major campaigns, and retail activations.
  • Improve operational execution and resolve issues.
  • Build relationships with merchant, planning, inventory, marketing, and executive stakeholders.
  • Lead business reviews and strategic planning sessions.
  • Use data, insights, and category expertise to guide customer decisions.
  • Track performance trends across athletic, footwear, and performance categories.
  • Share competitor analysis and consumer insights.
  • Find opportunities to strengthen Salomon’s brand presence and commercial results.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years in wholesale sales, national account management, or key account leadership.
  • Sales, merchandising, or planning experience with major athletic, footwear, sporting goods, or lifestyle retailers such as Foot Locker, JD Sports, DTLR, or Shoe Palace.
  • Experience managing high-volume men’s, women’s, unisex, and kids’ businesses.
  • Strong grasp of wholesale forecasting, assortment planning, and inventory management.
  • Track record of growing revenue and building strategic customer relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to balance and prioritize brand and business needs with internal stakeholders and senior customer decision-makers.
  • Ability to talk and hear; frequently sit, stand, and walk; occasionally kneel, stoop, crouch, twist, and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
