Clinical Data Science Manager – Trivandrum Onsite

Lead clinical data management teams supporting ICON’s sponsor-dedicated research services. Oversee people, delivery, quality, compliance, client relationships, resources, and operational improvement.

Description

  • Lead operations and people management for Clinical Data Coordinators, Clinical Data Management Specialists, and other Data Management professionals
  • Provide line management, coaching, and mentoring across designated projects and functions
  • Conduct performance reviews, career discussions, and succession planning
  • Assess capability gaps and put targeted development plans in place
  • Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, workforce planning, and resource coordination
  • Manage Data Management delivery to agreed timelines, quality standards, and budgets
  • Assign resources and workloads to improve productivity and delivery performance
  • Track operational metrics, productivity, quality patterns, and capacity projections
  • Oversee project risks, issues, and escalations
  • Ensure deliverables satisfy regulatory obligations, sponsor requirements, and ICON quality standards
  • Maintain adherence to ICH-GCP, applicable regulations, sponsor expectations, and ICON SOPs
  • Represent Data Management in audits, inspections, and quality assessments
  • Lead quality management activities and ongoing process improvement
  • Encourage the adoption of innovative technology, automation, and data-led solutions
  • Help develop departmental processes, tools, methodologies, and transformation initiatives
  • Manage client and sponsor relationships and provide strategic guidance in meetings and governance reviews
  • Report project progress, risks, mitigation actions, and operational updates to stakeholders
  • Represent ISS Data Management in client visits, business development activities, conferences, forums, audits, and inspections
  • Support onboarding, contingent workforce administration, freelancer oversight, and related operational activities
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and strategic initiatives that advance organizational objectives

Requirements

  • Substantial Clinical Data Management experience spanning the complete clinical trial lifecycle
  • Broad experience using multiple EDC systems, data review platforms, and clinical reporting tools
  • At least two years of people management experience covering performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, coaching, and career development
  • Proven ability to manage project delivery, operational measures, and cross-functional stakeholder relationships
  • Experience supporting client engagements and sponsor communications
  • Prior experience managing Team Leads or comparable supervisory positions
  • Experience leading global or cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Familiarity with process improvement, quality management systems, and operational excellence programs
  • Strong knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines, regulatory obligations, and clinical data management practices
  • Demonstrated leadership and sound decision-making skills
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational capabilities
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a changing and fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and build effective relationships across organizational levels
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a consistent focus on quality
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure while meeting quality and delivery commitments
  • Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is based
