Business Development Manager at Divert (Remote, United States)

Lead industrial customer growth at Divert by uncovering market opportunities, building qualified sales pipelines, shaping solutions, and guiding new customers through onboarding. The role supports Divert’s work in food-waste recovery and renewable energy.

Description

  • Research regional markets and align facility capabilities and capacity with customer demand
  • Analyze industrial customer segments, sub-verticals, competitors, partners, market conditions, and pricing
  • Build and manage the pipeline from prospect identification and qualification through new-business wins
  • Engage customer decision-makers, uncover their priorities, and develop solutions using Divert’s offerings
  • Represent customer needs and feedback across the team and wider organization
  • Deliver a high-touch customer experience throughout business development and onboarding
  • Hand off newly onboarded customers effectively to the Customer Success team
  • Partner with Marketing, RevOps, Customer Success, Product, and Operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, engineering, data science, or a related discipline
  • Two to four years of experience in business development, customer acquisition, and project delivery
  • Two to four years of experience in energy, recycling, food and beverage, and/or transportation
  • Valid driver’s license and availability for travel
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to respond empathetically to varied audience needs
  • Proven ability to apply data analysis in commercial or business development work
  • Highly organized, responsive, self-directed, and effective both independently and within cross-functional teams
  • Working knowledge of common business software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Residence in California, Oregon, or Washington
  • Proximity to a major airport
  • Availability to travel 25–50% of the year
