Business Analyst II, Human Resources — Emory University (Hybrid)

Emory University is seeking a hybrid Business Analyst II to improve HR systems, data, and processes. The role coordinates technology projects, reporting, testing, requirements gathering, and stakeholder collaboration.

Description

  • Align information systems with departmental objectives and information-management needs
  • Help ensure information systems support the organization’s mission and objectives
  • Partner with departmental customers to analyze business operations and define objectives and requirements
  • Contribute to technology planning and strategy development
  • Coordinate the planning and delivery of systems-related projects
  • Promote strong client satisfaction with Information Services
  • Assess HR processes, data, systems, and technology needs to improve service efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with HR staff, departmental stakeholders, University partners, and technology teams to identify needs and document requirements
  • Analyze data, design solutions, and coordinate the implementation and enhancement of HR systems, processes, reports, and tools
  • Act as the functional liaison between Human Resources and technical or institutional partners
  • Support HR data integrity, reporting and analytics, process improvement, system testing, project delivery, documentation, and end-user assistance
  • Carry out other related responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus five years of role-specific knowledge or experience applying information technology to one or more business functions, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Understanding of business analysis, process improvement, information systems, data management, and project coordination
  • Working knowledge of HR processes and the employee lifecycle
  • Knowledge of HR information systems, reporting tools, data governance, and practices for protecting accurate, confidential employee data
  • Strong business analysis, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and process-mapping abilities
  • Proficiency in gathering and documenting business and functional requirements and converting operational needs into technology or process solutions
  • Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities, including Microsoft Excel proficiency and experience handling large datasets
  • Strong project coordination, documentation, written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to evaluate complex HR processes and information, identify root causes and trends, and recommend practical solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively between HR users and technical partners
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, collaborate across functions, use sound judgment, and protect sensitive employee and organizational information
  • Ability to learn new systems and technologies and apply them to HR requirements
  • Residency in Georgia and the ability to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule are required.
