Finance Manager, Food Risk and Controls

Lead governance, risk and controls across M&S Food retail, including risk frameworks, audit assurance and reporting. Partner with finance, operational and risk stakeholders to strengthen controls and support regulatory disclosures.

Descriere

  • Lead risk management across the Food business in partnership with risk leads in Buying, Product Technology, Finance and Logistics.
  • Identify, assess and monitor key risks and controls, lead mitigation plans, and support quarterly and biannual reporting to Group Risk for external disclosures.
  • Serve as the Food business subject matter expert for governance, risk and controls.
  • Advise on new business processes, projects and control frameworks.
  • Lead process reviews to challenge current practices, improve controls and reinforce the controls culture.
  • Manage governance and assurance activities with Internal and External Audit teams.
  • Support audit planning and delivery, ensuring audit actions are closed on schedule.
  • Support the GSCOP compliance programme and annual material-controls testing for UK Corporate Governance Provision 29 reporting.
  • Monitor outstanding Risk, Audit and Change & Control actions and report regularly to senior stakeholders.
  • Chair quarterly risk updates for the Food Leadership Team and monthly reviews with the Food Finance Director.
  • Influence and challenge stakeholders to complete agreed actions.
  • Support strategic controls and compliance initiatives, including an annual presentation to the Audit & Risk Committee.
  • Provide ad hoc support for Group Change & Control programmes, including non-financial reporting assurance.

Cerințe

  • Qualified accountant holding ACA, ACCA or CIMA certification.
  • Substantial Governance, Risk, Internal Audit, Compliance, Controls or Strategy experience in a large international organisation or Big Four environment.
  • Demonstrated success designing, implementing and improving risk management frameworks and internal controls.
  • Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to lead change and introduce improved ways of working.
  • Able to influence, constructively challenge and establish credibility with senior finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Highly organised, self-directed and intellectually curious, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Effective in a fast-moving and changing work environment.
  • Retail, Consumer, FMCG or Food retail experience is desirable but not required.
