Senior AI Data Analytics Engineer
Shape Samsara’s marketing data and AI foundation by building Databricks pipelines, semantic models, and AI agents. Enable trusted analytics and workflow automation across its connected operations platform.

- Help set the strategy and roadmap for Marketing Data and Analytics’ data and AI foundation.
- Build and own marketing data infrastructure, including ETL/ELT pipelines, Databricks Gold Layer tables, and core models.
- Create semantic layers, data dictionaries, and documentation for self-service BI and conversational analytics.
- Work with BI to ensure sales and marketing KPIs rely on trusted, well-modeled data.
- Turn unclear questions from Marketing, Sales, and R&D into defined requirements and scalable solutions.
- Lead complex cross-team work from start to finish, including data pipelines and integrations.
- Manage risks across dependent teams and take ownership of reliability and data quality.
- Provide senior technical direction on complex problems, code reviews, engineering standards, and bottleneck removal.
- Mentor engineers and analysts.
- Develop AI-enabled data products and agents, including integrations, retrieval pipelines, and evaluation practices.
- Automate manual workflows with AI for Marketing and go-to-market teams, from concept to production.
- Deliver high-quality Python and SQL, increasingly directing agentic coding tools.
- Review and validate AI-generated work before it reaches production.
- Promote and put Samsara’s cultural principles into practice as the company expands globally and opens new offices.
Prasības
- Bring 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or AI engineering, including substantial hands-on data engineering work.
- Demonstrate expert-level Python and SQL skills.
- Have strong practical experience with data modeling and dbt.
- Bring deep knowledge of data warehouse and lakehouse architectures, ETL/ELT, and the modern data stack.
- Have hands-on experience with Databricks or comparable platforms such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
- Have experience creating semantic layers and structured documentation designed for AI ingestion and agentic workflows.
- Use agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor regularly, and take responsibility for verifying their output.
- Have experience building, launching, evaluating, and monitoring LLM or agent systems in production.
- Show a record of leading complex data initiatives across teams.
- Gather requirements independently from technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Have supported Marketing, Sales, or Product teams.
- Experience with Databricks and building AI agents in its ecosystem is preferred.
- A software engineering background beyond data or AI engineering is preferred.
- Expertise in data visualization and dashboards for sales and marketing KPIs is preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, marketing automation, web analytics, and MarTech tools is preferred.
- Experience with Streamlit, Claude workflows, or web frameworks is preferred.
- Experience in data science, machine learning, or predictive analytics is preferred.
- Be comfortable testing and refining new data sources and methods.
