Senior Scientific Data Architect and Data Modeler role at ALTEN, focused on life-science data. Design Snowflake and AWS platforms, semantic models, and FAIR data standards for global engineering and IT services.

Description

  • Assess existing data landscapes, flows, and scientific sources across the life-sciences sector.
  • Create enterprise data models for laboratory, research, and operational information, including centralized Data Products.
  • Define semantic models, metadata standards, and data classification frameworks.
  • Implement and further develop FAIR Data Principles and scientific data standards.
  • Architect modern data platforms using Snowflake and AWS.
  • Shape data architectures that span multiple business and scientific domains.
  • Work closely with laboratory, R&D, IT, and Data Science stakeholders.
  • Enable analytics, artificial intelligence, and Data Science use cases through harmonized data structures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • At least eight years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, or enterprise data management.
  • Professional background in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, diagnostics, medical technology, or scientific research.
  • Strong command of contemporary data architectures, data platforms, and data modeling practices.
  • Practical experience with Snowflake, AWS, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of Data Mesh, Data Products, metadata management, data governance, and FAIR Data Principles.
  • Experience with Scientific Informatics, Laboratory Informatics, semantic layers, ontologies, or the Allotrope Framework is advantageous.
