Sales Supervisor – Hotel Chocolat, Alexandria, VA

Lead customer experiences, cocoa product demonstrations, and retail operations as a Sales Supervisor at Hotel Chocolat’s Alexandria King Street store. Coach associates and support sales performance through strong service and store execution.

Description

  • Partner with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to deliver excellent customer experiences, operational standards, and planned financial results
  • Provide on-site leadership that maintains consistent service and performance
  • Work with regional and cluster Assistant Store Managers to execute retail strategy
  • Lead, engage, and develop a high-performing team in line with Hotel Chocolat’s culture
  • Increase sales through customer-focused experiences and effective selling techniques
  • Deliver outstanding service through product knowledge, selling skills, and experiential activities
  • Represent the brand with stakeholders, mall leadership, and the local community
  • Coordinate with Visual, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure effective execution
  • Build and share knowledge of products, cocoa, allergens, sustainability, and ethics
  • Conduct product tastings and demonstrations
  • Receive deliveries and secure inventory in accordance with Health & Safety standards
  • Maintain product displays, cleanliness, best-before dates, inventory controls, and accuracy
  • Oversee daily operations, hygiene, security, opening, and closing procedures
  • Review store operating budgets and identify efficiency opportunities
  • Put continuous operational improvements into practice
  • Assess, develop, coach, schedule, motivate, and measure associates
  • Increase associate engagement and improve store performance metrics

Requirements

  • At least two years of customer service experience is essential
  • Retail leadership experience is advantageous
  • Experience collaborating with a team to meet shared goals or targets
  • Flexibility to support colleagues and workload requirements as needed
  • Ability to identify product types and follow guidelines for displays, stock levels, seasonal promotions, and special offers
  • Inventory management experience is preferred
  • Ability to communicate openly, honestly, respectfully, and clearly with colleagues and managers
  • Ability to learn about a broad product range, including how products are grown and produced
  • Interest in cocoa and willingness to learn about different tastes and applicable allergens
  • Ability to hold store keys and complete opening and closing procedures
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety compliance
  • Ability to demonstrate Hotel Chocolat’s values and behaviors
