Lead Counselor, Day Program – Windsor, CT (Onsite)

Lead Vinfen’s Connecticut day-program support for adults with disabilities. Help people build independence, participate in their communities, develop employment skills, and advocate for themselves.

Description

  • Partner with management to uphold a high-quality service environment
  • Deliver individual and group support within the Day Program
  • Teach practical skills that strengthen independence and self-advocacy
  • Honor each person’s preferences and support a meaningful life
  • Keep the Day Program safe, secure, and clean
  • Help people take an active role in their communities
  • Build and reinforce social and job-placement skills
  • Connect individuals with community-based supports and resources
  • Organize recreation and social activities that foster inclusion and emotional well-being
  • Enable individuals to make choices, speak up for themselves, and shape decisions about their support and lives
  • Encourage work, volunteer, and other forms of community participation
  • Assign staff coverage for community and employment activities
  • Help develop, deliver, and document treatment, including IP/PBSPs and clinical programs
  • Provide transportation when needed and coordinate morning and evening transportation runs
  • Handle medication procurement, storage, administration, documentation, and disposal in line with MAC requirements, funding regulations, and company policy

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • One to two years of related training or work experience
  • Valid driver’s license must be provided at employment
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have held a valid U.S. driver’s license for at least six months
  • Reliable, insured vehicle required
  • CPR certification required within two weeks of hire
  • First Aid certification required within two weeks of hire
  • Medication certification required within 150 days of hire
  • Safety Care certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Must successfully complete multistate CORI and SORI checks, reference and employment verification, education and credentialing checks
