Senior F5 Systems Engineer with TS/SCI and Polygraph

Senior F5 Systems Engineer role supporting secure traffic infrastructure for General Dynamics Information Technology. The position administers F5 platforms across data centers in Maryland and Virginia.

Description

  • Configure physical and virtual F5 systems across multiple data centers
  • Help develop and support customer technical requirements
  • Design, implement, operate, and maintain F5 LTM, ASM, BIG-IQ, and APM solutions
  • Create technical documentation and operational procedures
  • Implement enhancements that strengthen network security infrastructure performance and reliability
  • Monitor and troubleshoot platforms, operating systems, network security infrastructure, and connectivity
  • Conduct launch testing for software releases and new capabilities
  • Coordinate with teams across different technology towers
  • Implement capacity-planning configuration updates
  • Resolve performance, scalability, and service architecture administration issues
  • Coordinate equipment orders and system upgrades, monitoring, testing, and servicing
  • Support government activities in Sterling, Virginia, or Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of 10+ years of education, technical certifications or training, and work experience
  • At least 7 years of relevant F5 experience, including administration and lifecycle management for F5 LTM, ASM, BIG-IQ, and/or APM
  • Advanced iRule creation and troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of storage, virtualization, Intel, networking, data center migration, and disaster recovery
  • Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting network systems and switching and routing protocols, including TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, SDN, and 802.1x
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and NTP in a large, multi-site environment
  • Knowledge of the risk and controls landscape
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements through Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security
  • F5 Certified Administrator certification, or the ability to earn it within 3 months of hire
  • One targeted F5 module certification in LTM, DNS, ASM, or APM within the following 90 days
  • US citizenship required
