Construction Site Manager - Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)

Lead field operations for Gray Construction’s large-scale design-build projects, overseeing safety, schedules, subcontractors, teams, and project closeout. Work across manufacturing, food and beverage, distribution, and mission-critical facilities.

Description

  • Own all field activities from project startup through completion
  • Oversee project safety, quality, scheduling, planning, jobsite logistics, on-site management teams, subcontractors, and risk assessment
  • Maintain the master project schedule and develop task-specific two- to three-week lookaheads
  • Provide real-time scheduling updates to the Project Manager and Scheduler
  • Enforce site safety requirements and stop work when violations are identified
  • Train project team members on Gray platforms, including CMO, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Concur, E-Time, and GoGray
  • Lead site and weekly meetings to coordinate subcontractor work
  • Prepare monthly reports on safety, schedules, subcontractor performance, quality, budgets, and customer relationships
  • Partner with the Project Manager team on subcontract buyout and procurement scheduling
  • Lead, teach, coach, and train subordinate team members
  • Build and maintain the jobsite safety culture
  • Mentor team members and hold the site team accountable for company policies and procedures
  • Set up construction sites and manage their closeout
  • Walk the project daily to confirm work is safe, high quality, and on schedule
  • Communicate project updates to project managers, design managers, customers, site teams, subcontractors, and field operations
  • Review and coordinate architectural, structural, and shop drawings
  • Evaluate project documents to ensure construction complies with plans, specifications, and contracts
  • Review project budgets and evaluate the site team’s financial impact
  • Support scopes of work, subcontractor and vendor evaluations, reporting, billing, cost-to-complete tracking, and status updates
  • Implement project closeout and punch-list processes
  • Coordinate the project team, subcontract buyout, procurement, scheduling, and closeout
  • May supervise multiple subordinate supervisors and support staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, performance reviews, and problem resolution

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of related construction experience
  • Previous experience with overall responsibility for field operations on project sites is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and direct on-site project teams
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal or contract documents
  • Strong people-management skills
  • Basic computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and email applications
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint
  • Ability to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work in wet or humid conditions and around moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather, heights, fumes, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, explosives, and vibration
  • Willingness to work overtime when required; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
