Senior Machine Learning and AI Engineer

Build production-grade generative AI and agent workflows for Ambush’s financial services clients. Develop Python and FastAPI services, SQL data workflows, retrieval-augmented generation, and cloud-based AI systems.

Descriere

  • Design and deploy enterprise generative AI and agentic AI solutions for complex financial services workflows.
  • Create workflows to classify and triage exceptions, analyze root causes and impacts, and recommend remediation.
  • Develop agent workflows with orchestration, tool calling, state management, and human review.
  • Connect new exceptions to historical issues, root causes, business rules, and transaction or data attributes.
  • Build Python and SQL services to query, transform, and analyze large structured enterprise datasets.
  • Create reusable tools and services for AI agents to retrieve information, investigate, analyze, and execute workflows.
  • Connect AI applications to enterprise APIs, databases, workflow and ticketing platforms, and internal data sources.
  • Use retrieval-augmented generation to retrieve context from regulatory documents, historical knowledge, and issue repositories.
  • Add confidence scoring, validation, safeguards, and traceability to AI-generated results.
  • Build backend services and APIs with Python and FastAPI, and deploy them on a major cloud platform.
  • Apply testing, logging, evaluation, observability, and production engineering practices.
  • Work with distributed onshore and offshore engineers, architects, business analysts, data engineers, and application teams.

Cerințe

  • Strong Python backend development skills and experience building production services with frameworks such as FastAPI.
  • Strong SQL and data analysis skills, including work with large structured datasets.
  • Demonstrated experience building LLM or generative AI applications beyond proof-of-concept chatbots.
  • Practical experience with an agent or workflow orchestration framework such as LangGraph, Google ADK, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or an equivalent.
  • Understanding of tool calling and reusable agent tools.
  • Experience with retrieval-augmented generation and information retrieval techniques.
  • Experience implementing LLM evaluation, safeguards, and validation.
  • Software engineering fundamentals, including Git, testing, code review, and continuous integration.
  • Experience deploying backend services to a major cloud platform; AWS is preferred, with GCP or Azure also considered.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and root-cause investigation skills.
  • Very good English and the ability to work with distributed engineering and business teams.
  • Practical judgment about when to use deterministic logic and when to use LLMs.
  • Senior-level experience.
  • Preferred: Financial services experience in areas such as regulatory reporting, capital markets, trade lifecycle, post-trade processing, transaction reporting, reconciliations, exception management, or risk and controls.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with EMIR, MiFID II, or SFTR.
  • Preferred: Model Context Protocol (MCP) and reusable agent tool interfaces.
  • Preferred: Knowledge graphs, Graph RAG, or data lineage.
  • Preferred: Vector databases, hybrid search, or reranking.
  • Preferred: AI observability and evaluation frameworks.
  • Preferred: AWS AI services such as Bedrock and SageMaker, plus Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
  • Preferred: Ability to turn requirements into specifications, tasks, and acceptance criteria.
  • Preferred: Experience with Claude Code or similar AI coding assistants.
  • Preferred: Basic React or frontend integration experience.
  • Must state whether you are based in Brazil.
