SRE Production Support Engineer – Rotational Shift, Bengaluru
Support FIS financial technology production systems as an SRE in Bengaluru. Handle rotational-shift operations, incident response, Linux and Python automation, monitoring, and reliability improvements.
Description
- Deliver round-the-clock production support for critical business applications and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot incidents, lead root cause analysis, restore services, and manage follow-up problem activities
- Build and maintain automation that minimizes manual work and operational toil
- Write and improve Shell and Python scripts
- Track system health, performance, and service availability
- Partner with application, infrastructure, and network teams to strengthen reliability and resilience
- Take part in on-call rotations, overnight shifts, and weekend support when needed
- Advance continuous-improvement work based on SRE practices
Requirements
- Bring 4–6 years of experience in production support, automation, Linux, and Site Reliability Engineering
- Demonstrate strong practical experience administering and troubleshooting Linux or Unix systems
- Use Linux commands, Shell scripting, and Python scripting or development proficiently
- Understand SRE principles and the practices that support operational excellence
- Have experience with automation, orchestration, and initiatives that reduce operational toil
- Understand production support workflows, incident management, root cause analysis, service restoration, and problem management
- Know switching technologies and core network fundamentals
- Have worked with monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, NetXMS, or comparable tools
- Be familiar with cloud platforms, DevOps tools, ITIL practices, and service-management systems
- Bring strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, time-management, and communication abilities
- Be prepared to work overnight shifts, on-call rotations, and weekend support schedules
