Senior Analytics Engineer at Fleetio (Remote)

Lead analytics engineering at Fleetio by building dbt models, semantic layers, dashboards, and AI-enabled data solutions for fleet management.

Description

  • Find and propose high-impact opportunities where data, analytics, or automation can improve business results.
  • Lead projects from defining the problem through implementation, adoption, and measuring outcomes.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to clarify objectives, test assumptions, and develop solutions to ambiguous challenges.
  • Create scalable, production-ready data models with dbt.
  • Build reusable data foundations and semantic-layer capabilities for BI, operational processes, machine learning, and AI applications.
  • Strengthen data quality, consistency, and usability through modeling, testing, documentation, and metric governance.
  • Advance the team’s technical and analytical practices through sound design and knowledge sharing.
  • Depending on priorities, develop canonical data models, enhance the semantic layer, deliver dashboards and self-service analytics, build predictive models, activate data in operational workflows, and prototype AI agents.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years solving complex business problems with data in analytics engineering, data engineering, data science, analytics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities independently and lead projects from initial idea through delivery and adoption.
  • Experience collaborating directly with business stakeholders and influencing both product scope and problem-solving approaches.
  • Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in Python.
  • Extensive experience using dbt and Snowflake to create clean, reusable data models.
  • Experience building and governing dashboards in business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience designing or using semantic layers and governed metric definitions.
  • Familiarity with predictive modeling and machine learning concepts is a plus.
  • Experience with reverse ETL and data activation is a plus.
  • Experience with front-end development and user-facing application development is a plus.
