Description

  • Provide responsive service to internal and external customers throughout the claims process.
  • Review policy wording and property damage to establish coverage.
  • Investigate claims promptly by coordinating with customers, vendors, experts, adjusters, and other parties.
  • Negotiate claim settlements with customers, third parties, and insurers within delegated authority.
  • Handle property claims and settlements online and by phone.
  • Use technology to deliver efficient, timely service.
  • Keep current on insurance products and developments in appraisal, investigation methods, and services.
  • Support customers with empathy during difficult circumstances.
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse team of claims adjusters.

Requirements

  • A college diploma or university degree is preferred.
  • At least two years of property adjusting experience.
  • Condominium and/or commercial claims experience is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A customer-focused approach.
  • Self-motivation and a goal-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills.
  • Strong technology aptitude and computer skills.
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development.
  • Willingness to pursue the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada from the expected start date and throughout employment.
  • Responsible for maintaining work eligibility; Intact does not provide immigration sponsorship or support.
