Program Coordinator — Residential Disability Services

Coordinate residential programs, staff, budgets, and healthcare for people with developmental disabilities. Support homes throughout Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties.

Description

  • Oversee daily operations at assigned homes and sites under the Program Manager’s direction.
  • Promote the safety and well-being of people with disabilities.
  • Support individuals with personal care and daily living skills.
  • Train, supervise, mentor, and give feedback to Direct Support Professionals.
  • Set schedules, maintain staffing ratios, approve leave, and review timecards.
  • Cover staff shifts as needed and help interview and hire direct support staff.
  • Assign staff duties and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure nursing, behavioral, and other plans are reviewed and signed.
  • Monitor electronic health records, case notes, other documentation, and client dashboards.
  • Conduct home inspections and fire drills, and manage monthly attendance and house meetings.
  • Keep homes within budget and manage consumer cash, Impress accounts, and SNAP food accounts.
  • Complete PCP documentation and train staff on individual plans.
  • Check incident reports for accuracy before submission.
  • Coordinate medical appointments and maintain related documentation.
  • Plan activities and monitor consumers’ medical, dental, medication, nutrition, and hygiene needs.
  • Respond to emergencies, including providing hospital coverage when needed.
  • Protect confidential information and demonstrate the agency’s philosophy and professional standards.
  • Complete other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least two years of progressively responsible experience supporting people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work throughout Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong command of spoken and written English.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Access to a safe vehicle for transporting people receiving services; the vehicle must pass an agency-sponsored inspection.
  • Ability to pass the criminal background check required by the State of Maryland.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies during and after hours, including weekends and applicable holidays.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • An associate degree in human services or a related field is preferred.
