Physical AI Research Engineer – Hybrid in Austria

Description

  • Create and assess machine-learning algorithms for humanoid and industrial robots
  • Build and apply Vision-Language-Action models, multimodal transformers, and large foundation models
  • Advance robotic perception, reasoning, and decision-making capabilities
  • Research robot learning approaches including reinforcement learning, imitation learning, policy optimization, and sim-to-real transfer
  • Develop scalable data-collection and continual-learning pipelines across digital twins and physical deployments
  • Combine computer vision, reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and control systems in practical solutions
  • Train models that help robots perceive, learn, and act with human-like adaptability

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in robotics, computer science, machine learning, or a related discipline
  • Practical experience developing real-time robotic controllers and working directly with robotic hardware
  • Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
  • Experience using robotic platforms and simulators including MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, or PyBullet
  • Familiarity with ROS or ROS 2
  • Proficiency in Python and C++
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork abilities
  • Valid authorization to work in Austria
  • Willingness to relocate to the Graz–Pischelsdorf area in Austria
  • Experience with humanoid robots or dexterous manipulation is advantageous
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and edge AI deployment is advantageous
  • Familiarity with distributed and large-scale training tools is advantageous
