Associate Director/Senior Manager, Global Master Data Management Engineering & Operations — Johnson & Johnson, Remote

Lead global master data management engineering and operations for Johnson & Johnson’s orthopaedics business. Manage teams, data governance, platform health, and enterprise data initiatives across U.S. operations.

Description

  • Own the global master data management platform and its data landscape
  • Evaluate and align data needs to support business priorities
  • Lead and mentor associates within the Global Master Data Management Engineering and Operations organization
  • Build team capabilities across the technical and business skills required to deliver objectives
  • Develop effective partner relationships and strengthen their master data management expertise
  • Define and track metrics that improve processes across MDM domains, environments, and platforms
  • Make independent decisions and present process and policy recommendations to DePuy Synthes Information Technologies leadership
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define and gather requirements for programs connecting with enterprise data warehouses, enterprise data lakes, and business solution environments
  • Design and lead improvement initiatives across master data management systems
  • Engage executive leaders, directors, and managers throughout improvement planning and execution
  • Support adoption and understanding of MDM application data-access tools through education, training, development, and enhancement
  • Escalate relevant issues and opportunities to the next level of management
  • Ensure applicable staff adhere to company health, safety, and environmental guidelines
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Expand the DePuy Synthes MDM ecosystem into a global medallion architecture
  • Protect data quality and treat data as an asset for the orthopaedic organization
  • Enable community insights based on data to inform broader organizational strategies
  • Oversee MDM platform availability, security, performance, releases, patching, access, and environment health
  • Complete other assigned responsibilities as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or information technology preferred; MBA or MS also considered
  • At least 8 years of professional experience, preferably in a related field
  • Previous people-management experience
  • Hands-on implementation and support experience with MDM platforms such as SAP MDG or Reltio
  • Experience creating enterprise or business-specific MDM strategies spanning multifaceted data architectures, data governance, and AI readiness
  • Demonstrated success leading or mentoring teams through substantial quality and process improvements
  • Experience developing training materials and delivering instruction to employees at all levels
  • Strong project or account management and testing-strategy capabilities
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to work successfully with outsourcing partners and deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Experience with master data management, supply chain, R&D, corporate, and commercial systems
  • Strong business judgment paired with technical capability
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Results-focused problem-solving and resolution skills
  • Sound critical-thinking ability
  • Ability to work within a matrix reporting structure and contribute to project teams
