Systems Reliability Engineer

Improve Azure infrastructure, deployment workflows, and service reliability as part of an AI-assisted engineering team. Support custom digital platforms through automation, incident response, and ongoing operational improvements.

Descriere

  • Design Azure deployment architectures with core development teams.
  • Lead the setup of deployment environments, including servers, services, and networks, while coordinating with technical client stakeholders.
  • Build security, scalability, supportability, and performance into solution architectures.
  • Help development teams maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
  • Run scheduled software releases when full automation is not yet in place.
  • Set up monitoring and alerting tools and connect them to support desk software.
  • Assist with support ticket triage and troubleshooting.
  • Help diagnose and resolve issues during business hours and through a shared after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Prepare incident reports with recommendations to reduce the risk of recurrence.
  • Work with core development teams to put mitigations in place.
  • Track incidents and keep clients informed of progress.
  • Plan and deliver proactive improvements to reduce support issues.
  • Automate recurring work instead of handling it manually each time.
  • Use AI assistance to document system architecture and configuration and deployment processes.
  • Share technical knowledge with support developers across teams.
  • Maintain existing operations and improve software and infrastructure reliability while reducing costs.

Cerințe

  • Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer, Systems Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in a comparable role.
  • Comfort using AI to diagnose issues, write scripts, automate work, and document processes in an AI-assisted delivery pipeline.
  • Expertise building scalable web applications.
  • Proficiency in Rust, Java, .NET, or Go.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js, ReactJS, AngularJS, or comparable front-end frameworks.
  • Demonstrated scripting experience with PowerShell, Ruby, Python, shell, or another common scripting language.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure deployment architectures, Microsoft DevOps deployment pipelines, GitHub Actions, and Terraform.
  • Experience administering Linux cloud server environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and configure virtual networks.
  • Familiarity with New Relic, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring tools, including dashboards and alert integrations.
  • Ability to move between technologies and complex environments.
  • Calm approach to resolving high-priority issues.
  • Good judgement in assessing AI-generated diagnoses and knowing when to verify them manually.
  • Strong motivation to learn and develop new skills.
  • Must be based in Auckland.
  • Must work from the office three days per week, and attend occasionally as required by client and team needs.
  • Candidates who progress may be asked to agree to police, credit history, and other checks, and provide evidence of qualifications.
