Descriere

  • Submit accurate insurance claims electronically or on paper in line with payer rules and contract terms
  • Review first-pass rejected claims, identify issues, and correct them for resubmission
  • Check claim status with assigned insurance plans and follow up as needed
  • Evaluate claim appeals and resubmit them with complete supporting records
  • Assess third-party account collectability and recommend adjustments or write-offs to the Manager
  • Help store staff confirm customer demographics and authorizations are in place for clean claims
  • Escalate claim issues, errors, and discrepancies to management to help identify billing trends
  • Prepare and send monthly patient balance statements using insurance explanations of benefits
  • Handle point-of-sale account billing, payment posting, contractual write-offs, adjustments, follow-up, and collection of overdue balances
  • Maintain accurate, compliant, and timely billing and reimbursement for vision and medical exams and vision products

Cerințe

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Medical insurance claims billing experience of up to one year preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to use a 10-key keypad by touch
  • Strong verbal, listening, and telephone communication skills
  • Clear written communication and ability to draft routine correspondence
  • Ability to perform arithmetic with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to define problems, gather information, establish facts, and identify trends
  • Sound judgment and ability to escalate issues appropriately
  • Strong organizational skills and accuracy with detailed manual tasks
  • Customer-focused approach and commitment to service
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with teammates
  • Ability to work effectively with people with diverse personalities
  • Tact, maturity, and flexibility
  • Ability to work onsite and attend regular, predictable in-person meetings
