  • Lead Covera Health’s Engineering and Platform/IT teams, including about 30 people across Engineering and AI.
  • Set architecture, engineering standards, technical quality, reliability, and day-to-day delivery.
  • Work with the Chief Product & Technology Officer to turn company and product strategy into technical plans and execution.
  • Develop engineering leaders while staying engaged with teams and technical challenges.
  • Strengthen delivery with clear priorities, practical processes, and sound technical practices.
  • Align technology decisions with customer, product, and business needs.
  • Coordinate Engineering with Product, Data, AI, Clinical, Operations, Security, and other teams.
  • Set architecture and standards for applications, cloud infrastructure, data platforms and pipelines, integrations, and enterprise technology.
  • Ensure systems scale securely and reliably as products, customers, data sources, and partnerships expand.
  • Balance performance, scalability, reliability, security, cost, and delivery speed in engineering decisions.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain strong technology talent.
  • Build a culture of ownership, sound technical judgment, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
  • Support increasingly complex data- and AI-driven products while meeting healthcare privacy, security, reliability, and quality needs.
  • Explain technical decisions, priorities, risks, and tradeoffs to engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Resolve complex technical issues involving data pipelines, architecture, system performance, and critical production incidents.

  • At least 15 years of progressive software engineering and technology experience, including substantial experience building and operating complex systems and leading engineering teams.
  • Experience leading engineering teams and managers while actively contributing to architecture, design, and execution.
  • Success building capable, high-performing engineering teams with strong ownership, accountability, and technical standards.
  • Strong product judgment and an ability to connect technology strategy and execution to product, customer, and business needs.
  • Ability to partner closely with Product leadership and work effectively across product and engineering.
  • Deep technical expertise and architectural judgment, with willingness and ability to engage in design reviews, technical problem-solving, and critical engineering decisions.
  • Experience building, scaling, and operating large-scale, data-intensive production systems and platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of modern software engineering, cloud infrastructure, data platforms and pipelines, integrations, security, reliability, and data architecture.
  • Experience improving engineering quality, reliability, and delivery through sound technical practices, effective tools, and practical leadership.
  • Ability to make complex cross-functional decisions, resolve competing priorities, and align teams and functions.
  • Experience working with ML/AI engineering teams or overseeing products and platforms that incorporate AI/ML.
  • A strong record of recruiting, developing, and retaining engineering leaders and talent.
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup or growth-stage environment.
  • Excellent executive communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Experience building or leading modern data-intensive platforms, with a strong understanding of complex data pipelines, distributed systems, and production reliability.
  • Ability to balance technical depth with leadership, staying close to engineering work while guiding teams and broader technology decisions.
  • Preferred: Experience at a healthcare technology or data company building modern platforms or technically complex products using clinical, imaging, or claims data.
  • Preferred: Experience with healthcare or clinical data, including familiarity with HL7 and/or DICOM.
  • Preferred: Experience with modern data and analytics platforms such as Databricks, Spark, or similar technologies.
  • Preferred: Experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure.
  • Preferred: Experience moving from a highly technical engineering environment into leadership at a startup or growth-stage company.
  • Preferred: Experience building engineering depth and technical leadership at a large technology company, followed by engineering leadership in a smaller, product-focused organization.
  • Expected to use AI actively in day-to-day work.
