Description

  • Lead the design and multi-quarter rollout of Vanta’s enterprise organizational model
  • Establish core abstractions that accommodate varied and competing enterprise needs
  • Evolve a live production system toward a multi-tenant organizational structure
  • Plan safe migrations and incremental releases while maintaining continuity for existing customers
  • Deliver measurable customer value each quarter through well-defined solution phases
  • Work directly with enterprise customers and apply sound product judgment
  • Coordinate execution across teams beyond the immediate area through technical clarity and credibility
  • Collaborate with Engineering leadership, Product, and Design to turn long-term strategy into phased deliverables
  • Define technical standards and reusable patterns, guide cross-team architecture, and demonstrate engineering excellence

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of substantial backend engineering experience
  • Demonstrated leadership of complex, multi-quarter technical programs in fast-moving, product-led environments
  • Experience creating platform abstractions for competing enterprise needs
  • Record of delivering large, structurally complex initiatives through incremental releases
  • Ability to influence squads and teams without direct reporting authority
  • Deep knowledge of tenancy models, role-based access control, data isolation, scoped permissions, cross-tenant operations, and access-boundary design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience with data residency or GovCloud is a plus
  • Willingness to use AI to extend capabilities and improve efficiency and impact
