Senior Inside Sales Representative – Avient

Grow customer accounts and revenue for Avient through inside sales, account management, and new business development. The role covers pricing, forecasting, CRM activity, and customer relationships in a hybrid Ohio position.

Description

  • Drive profitable sales growth while meeting gross margin targets.
  • Use customer-focused sales methods and tools, including scorecards, business reviews, EVE tools, prospecting, new account outreach, pipeline development, cross-selling, and CRM management.
  • Collect receivables and help prevent bad debt.
  • Select suitable product grades, standard or custom-compounded products, and competitive pricing.
  • Partner with the sales team to maintain and expand the territory.
  • Work with channel partners to close sales in line with customer purchasing needs.
  • Retain existing accounts and win new ones by assessing customer needs and competitive conditions.
  • Travel as needed to support and grow assigned accounts.
  • Act as the primary Avient contact for assigned accounts.
  • Represent Avient at trade shows, conferences, and other promotional events as needed.
  • Support short- and long-range business plans, recurring and annual sales forecasts, and sales target setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 5–7 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, account management, or business development, preferably in manufacturing or industry.
  • Demonstrated success meeting sales targets, expanding customer accounts, and finding new business opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, pricing strategies, contract management, and customer relationship management.
  • Experience with ERP and CRM platforms such as SAP, Salesforce, or similar systems.
  • Ability to build lasting customer relationships and provide high-quality service and support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including interpreting sales data, identifying trends, and developing practical recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy in order management, forecasting, and customer communications.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding less experienced colleagues is preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with customer service, supply chain, operations, and field sales teams to support customer growth and retention.
