Senior Engineering Manager

Description
- Lead product delivery, agile execution, and sprint planning across teams
- Balance feature development with system maintenance, technology migrations, and technical debt reduction
- Serve as the primary engineering partner to Customer Operations, Customer Success, TSE, SecOps, Platform, and Product teams
- Set priorities and explain technical trade-offs
- Maintain platform health, uptime, performance, vulnerability patches, dependency updates, and SLA compliance
- Review high-risk code and guide architecture decisions
- Oversee production support, triage, incident response, on-call rotations, and root-cause analysis
- Hire, manage, coach, and retain engineers across multiple product teams
- Build a strong engineering culture and promote high productivity
- Report to the Engineering Director
Requirements
- Bring 10–12 years of software engineering experience
- Have 3 or more years managing engineering teams responsible for production software that generates revenue across concurrent product lines
- Have led system maintenance, infrastructure or framework upgrades, dependency management, legacy system support, production incident response, and on-call operations
- Offer strong full-stack experience with PHP, Python, Java, Node.js, relational and non-relational databases, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines
- Have hands-on experience with AI and generative AI tools, such as coding assistants, automated code review, and testing tools
- Show that you can partner with Product Management to sequence capabilities and manage competing cross-functional demands
- Be willing to work from SurveyMonkey’s Bengaluru office one day per week
