Senior Auto Field Appraiser - Bay Area

Senior auto appraiser responsible for inspecting vehicle damage, estimating repairs, and resolving complex claims for Aspire General Insurance. This hybrid field role involves travel across assigned counties, with virtual appraisal options when appropriate.

Description

  • Inspect vehicle damage through field visits and virtual appraisal methods
  • Create accurate repair estimates with industry-standard estimating software
  • Negotiate repair costs and claim settlements with body shops, tow yards, storage facilities, and other involved parties
  • Assess and resolve total loss claims, including Actual Cash Value determinations
  • Review supplemental damage requests and complete re-inspections when needed
  • Keep customers informed throughout the claims process
  • Maintain thorough claim documentation and produce professional correspondence and reports
  • Support Material Damage leadership with complex claims and challenging negotiations
  • Coach and assist new team members during onboarding and training
  • Follow company procedures, Department of Insurance regulations, and applicable industry standards
  • Travel across the assigned territory and drive regularly within designated counties
  • Use computers, estimating platforms, and mobile technology, with occasional overtime as business needs require

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of auto damage appraisal and vehicle estimating experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry
  • Extensive background preparing collision damage estimates, assessing supplemental repairs, evaluating total losses, and managing complex vehicle damage claims
  • Advanced familiarity with CCC One, Mitchell, Audatex, or comparable estimating platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with repair facilities, towing providers, and storage vendors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Ability to obtain and retain an Independent Adjuster License when required
  • Prior experience mentoring, coaching, or training team members preferred
  • Experience handling claims across multiple states preferred
  • College degree preferred
