Payroll Operational Support Analyst – Global Industrial

On-site payroll analyst responsible for Workday payroll processing, reconciliations, audits, and employee pay issue resolution for industrial operations.

Description

  • Process and generate payroll using Workday
  • Audit and reconcile weekly, biweekly, semimonthly, and monthly payrolls
  • Import and balance timekeeping and bonus files
  • Process retroactive payments and investigate resulting variances
  • Review documentation supporting weekly audit reports
  • Help train and develop payroll team members and new hires in virtual and in-person settings
  • Document and maintain payroll best practices and standard operating procedures
  • Introduce new payroll procedures when required
  • Resolve escalated and complex payroll matters
  • Protect the confidentiality of payroll information
  • Assist the Payroll Manager with off-cycle payments, escalations, and internal and external audits
  • Prepare manual checks, balance bank deposits, and reconcile ACH debits and credits
  • Answer payroll inquiries by phone, email, and through ServiceNow Case Management
  • Research and reconcile third-party benefit provider activity against payroll withholdings, including Wellbeing benefits, Newport deferrals, ESPP, 401(k) plans, and payroll tax transactions
  • Oversee expatriate payroll setup, wire transfers, and related inquiries
  • Record and report ACH payments, manual checks, and pay card transactions
  • Test system changes and approve payroll configuration and integration updates
  • Complete ad hoc projects and other assignments from payroll leadership

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related discipline preferred
  • FPC or CPP certification preferred but not required
  • Three to five years of payroll processing experience required
  • Workday or comparable payroll system experience preferred
  • Strong organization, self-direction, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively
  • Ability to work successfully in a collaborative team
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and PivotTables
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle pressure, and meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively within a structured team
  • Ability to follow established procedures and maintain compliance standards
  • Flexibility to adjust working hours according to business and payroll processing needs
