Part-Time HR Assistant – FAA Payroll, Washington, DC (Onsite)

Support FAA payroll and personnel administration as a part-time HR Assistant with Leidos’ NISC IV program. Process benefits, pay changes, deductions, reports, settlements, and related employee actions.

Description

  • Handle personnel actions such as accessions, separations, position and pay changes, service and pay computation dates, and retirement, health, life insurance, and other benefit documentation.
  • Coordinate between the FAA and the DOI Payroll Operations Division.
  • Enter and process benefits, work schedules, union dues, VLTP balances, Thrift Savings Plan deductions, voluntary payroll deductions, VLB, settlements, and leave and time-and-attendance agreements.
  • Prepare BUS reports during pay calculate and post calculate cycles.
  • Review BUS reports for changes in employee bargaining-unit enrollment.
  • Support Wednesday processing by notifying timekeepers of coding problems and required corrective actions.
  • Resolve pay and non-pay actions across General Schedule, Federal Wage System, Core Compensation, and Air Traffic Pay Plan systems.
  • Provide guidance to HRSDs, LR representatives, and regional counsel on third-party settlements and agreements.
  • Support the processing of back-pay actions.
  • Monitor and process PLS folders for regions supported by OKC.
  • Monitor and review Change of Station emails.
  • Process tax-related and BUS emails.
  • Complete assignments accurately and on time, both independently and collaboratively.
  • Escalate problems and work issues to managers or team leads.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Maintain the working knowledge needed to perform assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least one year of relevant administrative experience.
  • Understanding of the clerical procedures required to perform the work.
  • Experience working with a federal agency.
