Enrolled Actuary, Retirement Plans — Strongpoint Partners

Support Strongpoint Partners’ retirement services platform through plan compliance testing, valuations, PBGC filings, and client guidance. The role covers defined benefit and 401(k) plans.

Description

  • Interpret defined benefit and cash balance plan valuation details, and communicate issues to in-house actuaries and clients.
  • Prepare and coordinate PBGC filings for covered defined benefit plans.
  • Keep current with industry developments and share relevant information with clients and colleagues.
  • Track legislative changes affecting 401(k) and defined benefit plans.
  • Review and interpret plan documents and amendments.
  • Advise clients on plan design changes and available options.
  • Review 401(k) valuations, trust accounting, and accrual-basis government reporting.
  • Conduct and interpret nondiscrimination testing.
  • Provide actuarial and plan administration support to clients.
  • Calculate benefits and perform valuations, AFTAP work, and Schedule B reporting.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of retirement plan experience; small defined benefit plan experience is preferred.
  • Enrolled Actuary designation, required to sign documents.
  • Strong knowledge of nondiscrimination testing.
  • Knowledge of defined benefit and cash balance actuarial valuation reports and PBGC filing requirements.
  • Knowledge of advanced cross-testing concepts and ability to perform testing that supports cost-effective nondiscrimination solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Relius, FT William, or a similar plan administration system.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Comfort working with technology.
  • Adaptability, creativity, initiative, and eagerness to grow.
