Computer Vision Engineer Remote in Argentina

Description

  • Create computer vision and machine learning pipelines for engineering drawings, PDFs, aerial imagery, and satellite data.
  • Extract structured information from vector and raster PDFs, including degraded and scanned documents.
  • Develop detection and segmentation models for construction materials and infrastructure, including asphalt, concrete, pavement, drainage, pipes, signs, guardrails, and lane markings.
  • Reconcile drawings, specifications, and imagery while investigating inconsistencies between sources.
  • Develop supporting ML infrastructure for labeling, dataset management, evaluation, regression testing, confidence scoring, and provenance tracking.
  • Partner with domain experts to establish ground truth and continuously improve system performance.
  • Emphasize dependable and complete outputs, using “not determinable” when the evidence does not support a confident conclusion.
  • Lead the identification of materials, surfaces, and construction features for an AI-based quantity-takeoff system.
  • Work with an engineering counterpart responsible for geometry and measurement to generate reliable, priceable quantities.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience building and deploying production computer vision or machine learning systems.
  • Advanced Python and PyTorch experience.
  • Production experience developing detection and segmentation systems for real-world imagery.
  • Experience working with aerial, satellite, drone, or similar raster imagery.
  • Strong command of OpenCV and traditional computer vision methods.
  • Experience handling noisy, specialized data and human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Knowledge of PDF internals, vector geometry, or document AI, with the ability to quickly develop any missing expertise.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Experience in geospatial imagery, construction, document AI or OCR, CAD vectorization, or autonomous vehicle perception.
  • Experience with 3D data such as photogrammetry, point clouds, terrain or surface models, or cut-and-fill analysis.
  • Background spanning both document vision and aerial or geospatial computer vision.
