Senior Financial Controller, NetSuite — Remote in the Philippines

Lead accounting, forecasting and financial controls for an Australian distribution business, working remotely from the Philippines. Own NetSuite finance operations, inventory accounting, cash flow and month-end reporting.

Descriere

  • Run the accounts function, maintaining accurate daily books, delivering management packs, rolling forecasts and a 13-week cash forecast, and closing by working day five.
  • Reconcile bank and card accounts daily across AUD, USD, EUR and other trading currencies, resolving exceptions the same day.
  • Process supplier invoices and complete three-way matching for inventory purchases.
  • Code indirect expenses, prepare payment schedules for CEO approval, and maintain supplier records, terms, prepayments and settlement timing.
  • Allocate customer receipts, issue statements, prepare overdue lists and reminders, and manage customer credit limits within policy.
  • Deliver a weekly customer exposure dashboard to the Customer Service Manager.
  • Reconcile corporate cards and expenses, prepare payroll data, and reconcile superannuation and leave balances.
  • Post goods receipts and landed costs, and manage stock valuations, obsolete-stock provisions and physical inventory reconciliations.
  • Complete month-end reconciliations and schedules by working day three, and close by working day five.
  • Prepare monthly management packs covering profit and loss by brand and channel, balance sheet, cash, inventory days, DSO/DPO and narrative commentary.
  • Set annual budgets, maintain rolling 12-month three-way forecasts, manage the 13-week cash forecast and lead variance analysis.
  • Advise on margins, costs, breakeven, pricing, rebates and supplier terms.
  • Execute foreign-exchange transactions, track open positions and revalue foreign-currency balances monthly.
  • Maintain financial controls, audit trails, segregation of duties and delegated-authority processes.
  • Prepare BAS, FBT, payroll tax, ASIC and year-end working papers for Australian accountants, and manage their annual review.
  • Own the NetSuite finance module, clean MYOB data, load opening balances, configure accounts, roles and approvals, and set up bank feeds, searches and reports.
  • Define Power BI finance reporting and oversee AI-assisted workflows for reconciliations, collections and report drafting.
  • Document recurring processes.
  • Manage the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager and approve out-of-budget purchase orders.
  • When required, select, onboard and lead the Senior Bookkeeper, and train managers to take ownership of their numbers.

Cerințe

  • Must be based in the Philippines.
  • Philippine CPA qualification required.
  • At least eight years of accounting experience, including three or more years in a product-based business such as wholesale, distribution, import, retail or manufacturing.
  • Practical experience with inventory, landed-cost and multi-currency accounting.
  • Experience working for an Australian or New Zealand business or client.
  • Knowledge of BAS/GST coding, superannuation, payroll tax and the 1 July–30 June financial year.
  • Has independently managed a full monthly close and produced a management pack for an owner or managing director.
  • Has built or maintained a budget and rolling three-way model covering profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Experience conducting monthly variance reviews with operating managers.
  • Hands-on experience with the NetSuite finance module, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation and period close.
  • NetSuite migration or data-cleansing project experience is strongly preferred.
  • MYOB experience is an advantage.
  • Able to make decisions on exceptions without escalating them.
  • Can document processes and has used automation or AI tools in finance work.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Comfortable presenting financial information to a CEO and management team, and raising disagreements in writing when appropriate.
  • Desirable: NetSuite go-live and opening-balance reconciliation; NetSuite OneWorld, multi-subsidiary or consolidation experience; Power BI or NetSuite SuiteAnalytics; experience supervising a bookkeeper or small finance team across time zones; or knowledge of Australian customs, Deferred GST or import documentation.
