Part-Time Property Accountant – Remote UK

Part-time remote accounting role supporting a managed property portfolio in the United Kingdom. Responsibilities include service charge accounting, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting, supplier payments, and financial controls.

Apraksts

  • Oversee accounting activities for the managed property portfolio
  • Maintain complete and accurate accounting records for each property
  • Prepare, record, and reconcile service charge transactions
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports
  • Process supplier invoices, validate documentation, secure approvals, and assign property and cost codes
  • Prepare and run supplier payments under approved procedures
  • Complete bank reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
  • Reconcile supplier, general ledger, service charge, and other balance sheet accounts
  • Post accruals, prepayments, journals, and other month-end adjustments
  • Support annual service charge budget preparation for managed properties
  • Track expenditure against approved budgets and explain variances
  • Assist with year-end service charge reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Organise financial records for accountants, auditors, and professional advisers
  • Support cash-flow monitoring, financial analysis, ad hoc reporting, and process improvements
  • Collaborate with property managers and suppliers

Prasības

  • Degree, diploma, or professional qualification in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
  • An ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent qualification—or progress toward one—is advantageous
  • Prior accounting experience, ideally in property management, real estate, facilities management, construction, or a related field
  • Experience managing accounts across multiple properties or cost centres is advantageous
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using accounting or property management software is desirable
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
  • Strong reconciliation and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple properties, accounts, and reporting deadlines
  • Effective organisation and time management
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with property managers and suppliers
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Availability Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm UK time for four hours
  • Personal computer or laptop
