  • Set direct marketing strategy and LTV-based targets for campaign volume, response and payback.
  • Manage the channel P&L, forecasts and budget, maintaining CAC and LTV discipline.
  • Use channel economics to guide the pace and scale of investment.
  • Acquire prospect data from bureaus and brokers, combining it with first-party data.
  • Guide analysts developing response and propensity models to select recipients, offers and timing.
  • Work with risk analysts to tailor offers to eligibility and lifetime value.
  • Manage campaigns from data selection through mail delivery.
  • Choose and oversee print and postal suppliers, negotiating cost, quality and turnaround.
  • Brief creative teams on campaign packs, copy and offers, and secure compliance approval.
  • Connect campaign sends to funnel, revenue and LTV reporting, and communicate channel results.
  • Partner with data, product, risk, finance and creative teams to improve targeting and offers.
  • Hire and develop the team as the channel grows.
  • Use AI to help a small team work effectively.
  • Lead dedicated analysts and collaborate with the creative team.
  • Manage the full direct marketing channel, including creative, mailings, logistics, offers, reporting, data pipelines and user data enrichment.

  • At least five years in direct marketing, including two to three years owning an end-to-end acquisition programme.
  • Evidence of mailing cold prospects at scale and accountability for volume, budget, response rates and cost per acquisition.
  • Commercial ownership of business cases, volume and return forecasts, channel P&L, CAC, ROI and payback measurement.
  • Experience sourcing data from suppliers, including list selection, screening, enrichment and cost management.
  • In-depth knowledge of the direct mail supply chain, including print, lettershop, Royal Mail products, Advertising Mail, Mailmark, partially addressed mail, door drops and suppression.
  • Strong analytical judgement and experience with test cells, holdouts, response models and propensity models.
  • Supplier management experience, including tenders, negotiations, service-level agreements and schedule management.
  • Ability to coordinate multi-drop campaign calendars across products, segments, creative, compliance, production and mailing dates.
  • Experience leading analysts and working closely with creative teams.
  • Clear communicator who can build trust with finance, risk, compliance and data teams.
  • Demonstrated use of AI in work processes.
  • Desirable: acquisition mail experience in financial services, particularly credit cards or loans, including prescreened or pre-approved offers and risk-based targeting.
  • Desirable: experience building a data pipeline or enrichment stack with first-party, third-party or bureau data.
  • Desirable: experience establishing a channel or function from scratch.
  • Desirable: experience hiring and developing an analytics or design team.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK or be able to obtain appropriate UK work authorisation.
