Virtual Title IV Financial Aid Officer

Process and administer Title IV financial aid for clock-hour students at FAME. Support post-secondary schools through compliant aid counseling, eligibility review, awarding, and disbursement.

Description

  • Manage Title IV financial aid processing independently for students in clock-hour programs
  • Review FAFSAs and assess and verify student eligibility
  • Handle awarding, packaging, ISIR corrections, disbursements, calculations, professional judgments, and dependency overrides
  • Apply federal student aid regulations while maintaining compliance and accuracy
  • Examine documentation, resolve discrepancies, and support compliant aid outcomes
  • Communicate directly with schools and students across FAME’s two service models
  • Explain financial aid requirements, necessary information, and next steps clearly
  • Engage assigned schools by phone, email, and virtual meetings, including monthly meetings
  • Provide timely updates on student aid matters and develop trusted school relationships
  • Investigate financial aid issues, establish next steps, and advance cases to resolution
  • Work with the remote team when additional information or assistance is required
  • Organize workload to meet turnaround, productivity, accuracy, and reliability standards

Requirements

  • Substantial experience in a school financial aid administration department
  • Deep knowledge of Title IV federal student aid regulations and clock-hour school compliance requirements
  • Extensive experience administering Title IV aid for clock-hour programs
  • Ability to independently complete packaging and awarding, ISIR corrections, verification, professional judgments, dependency overrides, disbursements, and financial aid calculations
  • Strong analytical ability and meticulous attention to detail
  • Self-directed and well organized, with the ability to manage detailed work and meet turnaround targets
  • Customer service and financial counseling experience
  • Ability to clearly explain federal student aid requirements, eligibility, estimates, and aid offers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build trusted relationships in a remote work environment
  • Ability to balance competing priorities, follow through, solve problems independently, and collaborate remotely
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Comfort using financial aid management systems, student information systems, databases, and virtual collaboration tools
  • Experience with FAME software is preferred but not required
  • Must be based in the United States and available to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time
