Temporary Remote Business Development Representative - Ohio

Temporary remote Business Development Representative role supporting Cengage’s Milady ExamReady solution for beauty and wellness education customers. Generate qualified demonstrations through outbound prospecting, customer follow-up, and appointment scheduling.

Description

  • Conduct proactive outbound outreach to prospective customers by phone and email
  • Engage beauty and wellness education customers and explain the value of Milady’s ExamReady solution
  • Assess customer needs and interest to create qualified opportunities for the sales team
  • Explain the value of speaking with a Milady sales representative and attending an ExamReady demonstration
  • Arrange qualified demonstration appointments for assigned sales representatives
  • Follow up with customers to encourage attendance at scheduled appointments
  • Keep accurate records of outreach, customer conversations, and scheduled appointments
  • Work closely with sales representatives to support smooth handoffs and positive customer experiences
  • Achieve weekly activity and appointment targets
  • Provide support to up to five sales representatives
  • Help create new sales opportunities and connect educators with solutions that support student success

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confidence and integrity when speaking with customers by phone
  • Ability to establish rapport quickly and communicate value clearly
  • Comfort with conducting high-volume outbound customer outreach
  • Results-oriented mindset with motivation to meet measurable goals
  • Strong organizational and follow-up abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple customer conversations and competing priorities
  • Positive, persistent approach and comfort hearing “no” while pursuing opportunities
  • Sales, customer service, business development, appointment-setting, or lead-generation experience is preferred but not required
  • Interest in beauty, wellness, or education is a plus
