Software Engineering Manager — Texas Remote | Imagine Pediatrics

Lead software engineering at Imagine Pediatrics, supporting virtual-first and in-home pediatric healthcare. Guide technical delivery, architecture, team development, and cross-functional execution.

Description

  • Build, support, and mentor a team of software engineers
  • Guide engineers’ career development through feedback, growth planning, and promotion advocacy
  • Work with Product and partner teams on data models, system boundaries, and integrations
  • Drive the technical roadmap through data-informed decisions, iterative development, simplicity, and delivered value
  • Translate business objectives into technical architecture and requirements with stakeholder input
  • Estimate product scope and delivery timelines
  • Help create scalable, reliable, efficient, maintainable, and extensible technical solutions
  • Advance work when requirements, ownership, or system boundaries remain unclear
  • Remove blockers by adding structure and making progress with incomplete information

Requirements

  • At least 9 years of software development experience
  • At least 3 years managing engineers as a sustained primary responsibility
  • Proven ability to navigate change and shifting priorities
  • Comfort driving progress when requirements are ambiguous
  • Experience managing teams working with cloud-based technology; AWS experience is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Track record of effective asynchronous and remote collaboration
  • Ability to work effectively across disciplines
  • Commitment to developing engineers across a broad range of professional skills
  • Ability to balance rapid proof-of-concept delivery with durable, well-designed systems
  • Experience leading organization-wide initiatives that improve engineering outcomes
  • Experience with an early-stage or scale-up company is preferred
  • Healthcare experience is preferred
  • Passion for and commitment to reimagining pediatric healthcare
