Description

  • Lead, mentor, and develop software engineers as well as emerging technical and people leaders
  • Foster ownership, accountability, collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement across engineering teams
  • Ensure teams own application health, reliability, security, maintainability, and customer experience from end to end
  • Promote cross-training, knowledge exchange, experimentation, and ongoing skills development
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, Quality Engineering, DevOps, Delivery, Operations, and business stakeholders
  • Connect engineering priorities with business goals, customer outcomes, platform adoption, and delivered value
  • Direct strategic efforts to modernize legacy applications
  • Improve CI/CD, automation, observability, resilience, secure development, and cloud-native-compatible architecture
  • Advocate for AI-SDLC investments and expand responsible use of AI-assisted engineering practices
  • Oversee priorities, risks, dependencies, team capacity, and delivery commitments
  • Use delivery, operational, quality, and people-development data to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience
  • Extensive experience leading engineering teams, developing technical and people leaders, and delivering organizational or platform transformation
  • A track record of coaching engineers, developing talent, and building high-performing teams
  • Ability to reinforce ownership, accountability, collaboration, learning, and effective delivery
  • Experience leading teams responsible for customer-facing web applications and supporting platforms through technical, organizational, or cultural change
  • Experience modernizing legacy applications and implementing contemporary architecture and engineering practices
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture, APIs and integrations, CI/CD, DevOps, application operations, and Agile delivery
  • Experience using AI-assisted software development tools or AI-enabled engineering workflows, with the ability to guide responsible adoption
  • Strong communication, coaching, stakeholder management, and change-leadership abilities
  • Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or cloud-native architecture patterns
  • Preferred: experience with platform engineering, containerization, observability, resilience engineering, or site reliability practices
  • Preferred: experience leading modernization where legacy applications and physical data center infrastructure are present
  • Preferred: experience creating adoption, enablement, governance, or measurement practices for AI-assisted engineering
  • Preferred: experience in travel, cruise, hospitality, e-commerce, or another customer-facing digital platform environment
  • Preferred: experience managing distributed or remote engineering teams
