Principal Contracts Specialist, Remote in Arizona

Lead proposals and contract execution for Raytheon naval missile programs. Advise aerospace and defense teams on negotiations, compliance, and risk.

Description

  • Lead new business pursuits, proposals, and contract execution.
  • Recommend strategic approaches to proposal, negotiation, and execution challenges.
  • Keep proposal delivery and ongoing contract execution on schedule.
  • Build and sustain productive relationships with internal teams and external customers.
  • Coordinate with Portfolio Directors, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Finance, and Supply Chain to support successful contract execution.
  • Identify, reduce, and resolve contractual issues.
  • Confirm negotiated terms and conditions align with company policy.
  • Advise on contractual and business matters, rights and obligations, and ways to mitigate contractual and program risks.
  • Maintain effective partnerships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate customer correspondence and address contract changes and issues.
  • Oversee contracts and work directly with program leaders.
  • Support development and production contracts for domestic, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), and subcontractor needs.
  • Take part in business management reviews, including quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews.

Requirements

  • A university degree or equivalent experience and at least five years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and at least three years of experience.
  • Background in contracts, program or business management, finance, supply chain processes, or procurement.
  • Experience with contracts, terms and conditions, RFPs, RFQs, FAR, DFARS, or comparable contract work.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required after the first day.
  • Experience negotiating, executing, and administering contracts and agreements, including Proprietary Information Agreements.
  • Experience applying Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and apply critical thinking.
  • Understanding of contract finances and risk quantification.
  • Experience with intellectual property, license agreements, or teaming agreements.
  • An advanced degree related to contracts, such as an MBA, JD, law degree, or Master of Science in Finance, is preferred.
