Senior Wet Etch Manufacturing Development Engineer

Lead wet etch process development for Intel semiconductor manufacturing, with a focus on yield, defect reduction, and technology integration. This hybrid role supports operations in Hillsboro or Phoenix.

Description

  • Design, develop, and refine advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Optimize process parameters, materials, and equipment systems.
  • Evaluate process feasibility through simulation and hands-on engineering analysis.
  • Support innovative device architectures for future semiconductor technologies.
  • Create roadmaps for next-generation manufacturing processes.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Intel’s process capabilities.
  • Perform pathfinding informed by industry developments and customer needs.
  • Bring emerging technologies into Intel’s manufacturing operations.
  • Implement equipment changes that improve throughput and reduce defects.
  • Lead complex investigations into defects and yield losses.
  • Partner with internal teams and external suppliers on enabling technologies.
  • Coordinate integration across etch, deposition, CMP, and lithography modules.
  • Use disciplined execution and data-driven methods to deliver process improvements.
  • Conduct structured root-cause analysis with advanced analytical techniques.
  • Move solutions from initial concept through factory deployment.
  • Develop semiconductor technologies from qualification through high-yield production for foundry customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, electrical engineering, materials science, physics, mechanical engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
  • At least seven years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, process development, or technology development.
  • At least one year of experience applying Design of Experiments and statistical process control.
  • At least two years of experience performing structured root-cause analysis with data analytics.
  • At least two years of experience integrating modules and analyzing interactions among etch, deposition, CMP, and lithography processes.
  • Background in process optimization, defect reduction, and manufacturing improvement.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced etching, materials science, and/or equipment metrology processes.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-moving, changing environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with advanced foundry customer requirements and specifications.
  • Postgraduate STEM degree preferred.
  • Experience with sub-10nm logic or leading-edge foundry nodes preferred.
  • Experience partnering with equipment and materials suppliers preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-functional yield improvement and technology ramp efforts preferred.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and acting as a technical focal point preferred.
  • Experience owning initiatives from concept through factory deployment preferred.
