Senior Software Engineering Manager, Cardiac Ablation Solutions

Lead the software engineering organization for Medtronic’s Affera cardiac mapping and ablation system. Own architecture, release execution, compliance, and development of engineering talent in a regulated medical-device environment.

Description

  • Lead and grow the engineering team responsible for core product software
  • Set technical direction, development priorities, and delivery plans in line with product and business goals
  • Coordinate release milestones, risk mitigation, defect resolution, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence
  • Recruit, coach, mentor, and retain software engineering professionals
  • Promote strong practices across software development, architecture, cybersecurity, testability, and documentation
  • Shape product strategy through technical evaluations, roadmap recommendations, and tradeoff analysis
  • Deliver safe, high-quality software for the Affera cardiac mapping system
  • Provide technical direction, people leadership, and oversight of cross-functional execution
  • Advance product performance, regulatory compliance, and business outcomes

Requirements

  • Professional experience developing software with Python and C++
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of relevant experience, including 5 or more years managing teams, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, including 5 or more years of management experience
  • Background leading software engineering teams within a regulated environment
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture, product development, testing practices, and team development
  • Experience with embedded software, real-time systems, imaging, mapping, or medical-device platforms is preferred
  • Knowledge of medical-device software quality processes and regulatory frameworks is preferred
  • Experience working with agile development methods is preferred
  • Previous leadership in platform or product software organizations involving multiple contributors and dependencies is preferred
  • Experience supporting deployed products, sustaining engineering, and post-market software issues is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degrees earned outside the United States must meet the degree requirements under 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A)
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required at hiring and throughout employment; sponsorship is unavailable for roles below the Principal level
