Senior MLOps Data Engineer at TomTom (Hybrid, Netherlands)
Lead the Azure and Databricks ML platform supporting TomTom’s navigation products. Build dependable pipelines and model operations with strong observability, automation, security, and compliance.
Description
- Manage the complete machine learning lifecycle across Azure and Databricks
- Build and operate ML pipelines spanning ingestion, feature engineering, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement
- Create consistent experimentation practices with MLflow or comparable tools for tracking, artifacts, model registration, and lifecycle stages
- Automate Databricks jobs and delivery workflows through Databricks Workflows, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
- Establish data and model observability for freshness, completeness, feature and model drift, training-serving skew, and SLA/SLO performance
- Maintain appropriate security and compliance controls
- Lead incident response and post-incident reviews for ML pipelines and model-serving infrastructure
- Partner with applied scientists to run robust, dependable models
Requirements
- Advanced Python software engineering skills, including test development
- A foundational understanding of machine learning
- At least three years of experience in data engineering or MLOps
- Strong proficiency with PySpark
- Practical experience using Databricks and Delta Lake
- Experience delivering data and ML CI/CD with Git, pull request workflows, automated testing, and pinned environments
- Working knowledge of Azure
- Experience creating monitoring systems and dashboards
- Clear communication skills and an operational mindset focused on SLA/SLO ownership
