Senior Full-Stack Java Engineer – Workforce Management (Remote)

Description

  • Create, test, and maintain scalable backend services with Java, Spring Boot, and domain-driven design.
  • Develop microservices for forecasting, staffing, scheduling, shift management, adherence, exceptions, and operational reporting.
  • Build responsive workforce applications with TypeScript and React.
  • Design and consume REST APIs using an API-first development approach.
  • Establish OpenAPI/Swagger contracts and maintain consistent versioning standards.
  • Implement event-driven workflows for schedule changes, agent states, queue metrics, forecasts, and adherence events.
  • Connect workforce-management capabilities with CX, ACD and routing, HR, payroll, identity, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Design workforce and operational data models in PostgreSQL and other relational databases.
  • Containerize services and support cloud-native deployment and configuration-management practices.
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, automated testing, quality gates, and repeatable deployments.
  • Investigate production issues and improve performance, batch processing, concurrency, scalability, and reliability.
  • Contribute to code reviews, technical designs, architecture discussions, sprint planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Work with Product, Operations Research, QA, DevOps, UX, and other stakeholders to deliver solutions.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of full-stack software development experience, including ownership of production applications.
  • Advanced practical knowledge of Java and Spring, especially Spring Boot, REST services, security, and persistence.
  • Strong frontend development experience with Angular or React, TypeScript, component-based design, state management, and modern testing.
  • Working knowledge of Node.js for integrations, lightweight services, build tooling, or supporting components.
  • Experience with NICE WFM, Verint, Calabrio, Genesys WFM, Aspect/Alvaria, or a comparable workforce-management platform.
  • AWS and Amazon Connect experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to design REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven services in distributed systems.
  • Strong SQL expertise and experience creating efficient data models in PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database.
  • Experience developing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based and containerized applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write clear technical documentation and lead client-facing workshops.
  • Experience connecting workforce-management systems with ACD, routing, HR, payroll, CRM, or data-warehouse platforms is desirable.
  • Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging and event-streaming technologies is desirable.
  • Knowledge of workforce analytics, optimization methods, or operational research concepts is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure software-delivery practices is desirable.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools or building AI-enabled solutions, including Claude or GitHub Copilot, is a plus.
