Senior Data Analyst, AI Evaluation – Life Sciences at RELX, Gurgaon Onsite
Evaluate AI-powered life sciences solutions at Elsevier by building scientific benchmarks and validating LLM-as-judge assessments for product quality.
Description
- Use scientific expertise to help define customer-focused success criteria, evaluation rubrics, and acceptance criteria for AI solutions
- Establish evaluation scope, metrics, and scenarios using expertise in drug discovery, drug development, and regulatory approval
- Create and curate scientific test sets and benchmarks based on real-world life sciences and regulatory data
- Tailor LLM-as-judge evaluation methods to products, use cases, and metrics, then validate and improve them with scientific domain experts
- Perform manual and automated assessments of AI outputs, investigate discrepancies and failure modes, and deliver evidence-based feedback on evaluation quality
- Partner with product, data science, and engineering teams to understand how AI systems access, interpret, and use scientific data
- Record evaluation findings, limitations, and recommendations to guide product improvements and release decisions across teams
Requirements
- Advanced academic training in life sciences, including bioinformatics, cheminformatics, biochemistry, pharmacology, or a related discipline
- Professional experience assessing AI or algorithmic outputs against scientific data
- Experience applying scientific knowledge within structured data or content systems such as databases, taxonomies, or knowledge graphs
- Working knowledge of how AI products access and use data, including basic data flows, APIs, and version-controlled workflows such as GitHub
- A collaborative approach with strong, clear communication skills
