Payroll Specialist, Swiss Payroll

Manage Swiss payroll, social insurance and tax processes for Coople’s flexible staffing platform. Support compliance, reconciliations and ongoing process improvements.

Description

  • Assist with monthly payroll runs for Coople workers on temporary assignments, including processing and review.
  • Manage social insurance changes, settlements and reconciliations across AHV/IV/EO/ALV, UVG, KTG and BVG.
  • Handle complex illness, accident, maternity and paternity cases independently, and respond to insurers’ questions about daily allowances and benefits.
  • Process withholding tax with cantonal tax authorities.
  • Manage wage garnishments and information requests from debt enforcement offices.
  • Provide support to Coople workers, internal teams, authorities and insurers.
  • Reconcile payroll with financial accounting and assist with year-end closing, salary statements and audits.
  • Deputize for the team lead and provide payroll expertise to colleagues.
  • Improve payroll processes, including using AI tools for checks, reconciliations and document analysis.

Requirements

  • Commercial apprenticeship (EFZ) and further training in payroll or social insurance, such as a Payroll Specialist Certificate or Certified Social Insurance Specialist.
  • Around 2–5 years of Swiss payroll experience, ideally in temporary staffing or a high-volume payroll environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Swiss social insurance and withholding tax.
  • Strong IT skills and excellent Excel proficiency.
  • Open to new technologies and interested in AI tools; prior experience is an advantage but not required.
  • Precise, independent and solution-focused, with the ability to work effectively during busy periods.
  • Discreet when handling personal data.
  • Very good German and good English; French is an advantage.
