Internal Communications Manager, Rolls-Royce (Bristol Hybrid)

Lead internal communications for Rolls-Royce’s Engineering, Technology & Safety organisation. Turn complex priorities into clear, engaging stories across its aerospace, defence, power and nuclear businesses.

Description

  • Develop and deliver the ET&S internal communications strategy, including campaigns and change initiatives.
  • Strengthen Rolls-Royce’s engineering reputation while supporting a culture of performance, belonging and safety.
  • Commission and write content that makes complex engineering and technical topics clear, credible and engaging.
  • Find opportunities across communication channels to improve colleague understanding of ET&S priorities and capability programmes.
  • Partner with functions and Rolls-Royce divisions to expand the ET&S narrative and develop shared storytelling opportunities.
  • Use colleague feedback and listening insights to prioritise work, define success measures, assess results and improve communications.
  • Guide and influence ET&S leaders and subject-matter experts to communicate more clearly and effectively.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success creating and influencing internal communications plans for complex, cross-functional teams in highly matrixed organisations.
  • Exceptional writing and editorial ability, including the skill to explain complex technical subjects with clarity and credibility.
  • Experience building insight-led communications strategies with measurable results.
  • Confidence and credibility when advising and influencing senior leaders in complex organisations.
  • Collaborative working style with a strong record of effective teamwork alongside senior colleagues.
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for engineering, technology, innovation or safety communications.
  • Experience managing confidential information, including business-sensitive or government-security-related material.
  • Experience overseeing communications or creative agencies to agreed deadlines and budgets.
  • Ability to coach teams to build effective agency partnerships.
